Despite the drop in activity levels, there was a positive evolution in the portfolio of municipal requests and licenses, according to AICCOPN.
According to the barometer, this annual variation of -1.7% interrupted the recovery observed in the previous month. But, in contrast, the index related to the order book rose 4.9% compared to June of last year, “reinforcing positive signs in terms of demand,” the report states.In June, the activity level of construction companies operating in the urban redevelopment segment registered a slowdown of -1.7% year-on-year. These figures come from the Urban Rehabilitation Barometer, a monthly survey of business owners conducted by AICCOPN.

With regard to contracted production, the indicator that estimates the average guaranteed working time at a normal execution pace stood at 9.7 months, below the 10.5 months recorded in June 2024.
In June, municipal licensing for urban redevelopment works reached 2,793 licenses issued between January and May, a year-on-year increase of 9.6% compared to the same period last year. According to AICCOPN, this growth “is largely due to the 17.6% increase recorded in the residential building segment, which totaled 1,684 licenses issued.”
It should be noted that the licensing data considered refers exclusively to interventions subject to prior municipal control, and does not reflect the totality of urban redevelopment activity carried out in the country.
